Life of a Colonial Woman

Wives in New York carry out many of the daily work that is needed at home. They work day starts from the time they get up to the very minute they go to sleep. Almost all of the work needed for the family is done at home by the woman of the family. They make clothes for the family and cook the meals they eat. They also make the candles and soap. These jobs were often tedious and laborious; usually taking more than one day. Clothes for the family had to be made and there was spinning and weaving and knitting to be done.
