A Children's Role of the House

Children in a colonial family certainly do their share of the house's work. Girls would usually stay in the house with the mother, assisting her with the insude chores like cooking and sewing. They also help with sweep the floors, make beds, feed the chickens, milk cows, and gather vegetables from the garden. Boys followed the footsteps of their father and help outside, usually on the farm. Their daily jobs consist of pulling the weeds in the field, taking care of the animals, and hunting with their fathers.
