Colonial Occupations

  • Blacksmith- make and fix tools, pots, and other useful items that is used not only by himself, but also the community. These items were made out of iron or some other type of metal.
  • Farmer-works in family or local farm, usually doing jobs such planting and cultivating crops, cutting trees, and raising livestock
  • Printer- main job is to create town's local newspaper. Other jobs can consist of printing books and documents needed
  • Shoemaker- Since colonial people do a lot of walking, the shoemaking business is very prosprous. The main job was to repair old shoes or to make new ones.
